Located nearby, the park also features the iconic Bushkill Falls, which is regarded as the Niagara of Pennsylvania. While visiting the Lehigh Valley, be sure to include the arts in your itinerary. The city is home to several art museums and has a thriving arts and culture scene. See this for example. In Allentown, check out the Allentown Art Museum and the state Theatre center for the arts. The ArtsQuest Center at SteelStacks, a 10-acre arts and culture center built on the former Bethlehem Steel site, is another exciting arts and culture destination. You can take in an old-fashioned rose garden at the Malcolm W. Gross Memorial Rose Arboretum, or enjoy a wintertime performance at the Allentown Symphony Hall.

The original park was established in 1897, but did not operate until 1923. In 1992, Cedar Fair purchased the park and expanded it. In 1993, Dorney Park opened a flume ride, named Pepsi Chute, which plunges riders down 80 feet. It also features a huge wave. The ride is now known as White Water Landing, and opened in midseason in 1993.

The Lehigh Valley region is also home to a variety of museums and restaurants. A variety of live performances, art exhibitions, and wineries are located throughout the region. There are also a number of historical museums, a Bach choir, and even a foreign film theater.
